About our Mental Health Care Services

The Psychology Department at FSRI is fully committed to providing the highest quality mental health care to people across the country and region. We are a full-service department and offer comprehensive services including psychoeducational testing, group therapy, and therapy for children, adolescents, couples, families, and adults. Our team is also highly experienced in the area of marriage/couples counseling and family counseling. Trained in cognitive behavioural therapy)CBT(, dialectical behavior therapy )DBT(, psychodynamic psychotherapy, interpersonal therapy, behavioral therapy, and play therapy, our clinicians are able to address a broad range of concerns including the following:

  • Depression and sadness
  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Excessive worrying
  • Obsessions and compulsions
  • Bipolar Disorder and mood swings
  • Grief and loss
  • Stress
  • Anger management
  • Problems at work
  • Family and relationship concerns
  • Eating disorders and concerns about weight and body image
  • Sleep problems and difficulties
  • Attention or concentration concerns, including ADHD
  • Learning disabilities

Our department also specializes in educational psychology and psychological assessments for people of all ages. Using the latest testing instruments, we do not just identify areas of weakness, but our team instead focuses on identifying the individuals' strengths. All assessments are focused on interventions and determining concrete recommendations to improve the problem. We test for the following concerns:

  • Intelligence and cognitive assessments (WISC-IV)
  • Academic ability (WIAT-III)
  • Attention and concentration problems (ADHD)
  • Learning disabilities including reading, writing, and math disabilities
  • Developmental disabilities including Autism and Asperger's
  • Dementia and geriatric concerns
  • Specific diagnostic concerns, including depression, anxiety, social anxiety, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, addictions, OCD, schizophrenia, childhood anxiety/depression, personality disorders, forgiveness, anger, marital satisfaction and many others.

For those located outside of Kuwait, we are able to arrange for telehealth consultations.

All of our clinicians are licensed or are supervised by licensed clinicians, and all treatment fully adheres to the Code of Ethics put forth by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of Social Workers. As such, all of our services are offered with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
