Andrea Al Adwani
Andrea Al Adwani has more than 20 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults from various cultural backgrounds. She earned a Masters from the Regent School of Counseling and Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Psychology from University of North Carolina Greensboro. She has taught in Universities in the US and Kuwait. She uses family systems, transgenerational systems, other forms of traditional talk therapy, as well as play therapy and sand tray therapy.
Andrea has experience with screening instruments and assessments for mood disorders, IQ, achievement, executive functioning, autism spectrum, sensory integration, and motor coordination. She has experience writing individualized reports, creating child specific recommendations, and collaborating with school staff to develop, implement, and update individualized plans for students with disabilities, gifted students, and twice exceptional students.
Andrea frequently consults with local schools, clinics, and community groups. She enjoys providing professional development opportunities for professionals to deepen individual skills, facilitating team development of policies and procedures, and fostering stronger self-care programs to boost productivity, team work, and wellness.

Andrea specializes in strengthening relationships, managing crisis care, understanding and redirecting anger, reducing depression, coping with grief and loss, adapting to a new culture, upgrading self-care programs for burnout prevention and burnout recovery, adapting to major life changes, cultivating new communication skills, building conflict resolution skills, supplementing caregiver support, and making peace with end of life concerns.
Andrea supports students and parents with educational concerns. She helps young children develop their best behaviors for school interviews, reduces fighting among siblings, cares for the unique needs of gifted students, addresses defiance with conduct disorders and behavior challenges, and provides new methods for parents to promote the best success for growing children.
