Rita El Haddad
Rita El-Haddad is an Educational Psychologist specializing in cognition, language, and development. In addition to working with patients at FSRI, Rita is the Educational Psychologist at Al-Bayan Bilingual School.
Rita has long-term experience in teaching and tutoring at the university level. She taught for six years as an adjunct lecturer and worked for four years as a department tutor for statistics and experimental design at the Psychology Department at Brooklyn College, City University of New York (CUNY). She also spent two years as a Writing Across the Curriculum Fellow at Medgar Evers College at CUNY.
Rita has been involved in a number of research projects and studies. While pursuing her PhD, Rita worked for more than six years at the Cognitive Neuroscience of Language Laboratory at Brooklyn College. During her graduate studies, Rita focused heavily on dyslexia, investigating and documenting the different types of accommodations and strategies that can help people with dyslexia overcome their difficulties.
Rita earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2008. Following that, she completed a Master of Arts in Experimental Psychology from Brooklyn College in 2013, and a Master of Philosophy in Psychology from The Graduate Center in 2015. She is currently a PhD candidate in Psychology, with a research focus on dyslexia, at The Graduate Center.
